Recently Foursquare was valued $95 Million...
The new Verizon commercial puts Foursquare center stage.......
Verizon has released a new commercial centered around the hot geo- social app Foursquare.
The 30-second spot focuses on a young girl with her Motorola Droid walking through the streets, checking in on Foursquare (Foursquare). All the while, wireless tower after tower come out of the walls, streets and cars around her.
While Foursquare is never specifically mentioned in this commercial, there’s no doubt it’s the Android (Android) version of the popular geo- location app on display. Foursquare told us that they gave Verizon permission to use its logos and screenshots and showed them the storyboards for the commercial. It’s a major win for the NYC-based start up, as it gives the service more exposure and buzz.
We have a sneaking suspicion that this won’t be the last commercial to feature Foursquare. Until then though, here’s the Verizon commercial for your viewing pleasure:
Foursquare and your Business? Some business owners "what is it for me?" .. Well Foursquare aims to encourage people to explore their neighborhoods and then reward people for doing so. They do this by combining their friend-finder and social city guide elements with game mechanics, if you're a user you can earn points, win Mayorships and unlock badges for trying new places and revisiting old favorites etc.
As a business owner, you can use foursquare to engage your increasingly mobile customers with foursquare "Specials," which are discounts and prizes you can offer your loyal customers when they check in on foursquare at your venue. Don't forget to show extra love to your venue's Mayor! Additionally, if you offer foursquare Specials to your customers, you will be able to track how your venue is performing over time thanks to our robust set of venue analytics all for free!
Also you can show off to your FB and twitter friends that you actually attended a concert, church etc. If you are trying to hide your whereabouts, it's OK because you can do that in foursquare.
Cool? So then get an account and add me as friend.
