I heard about this so called "Adrenal Fatigue" before and I heard it again today, so I did a little researching. This came from maBlog or Market America Blog saying that it is a growing problem in United States.
Research has revealed that 80 percent of Americans suffer from adrenal fatigue. This alarming statistic has people asking questions. What is adrenal fatigue? What are the symptoms? What is the solution?
What is adrenal fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue occurs when adrenal glands are not capable of producing the healthy amount of hormones the body needs.  When exposed to prolonged stress the adrenal glands simply cannot keep up.  Adrenal fatigue is often the result of reoccurring stress such as infections, smoking, poor eating habits, financial pressures or emotional stress. The most important hormone to help the body deal with stress is cortisol. However, when the body produces too much cortisol in the attempt to cope with too much stress, issues such as increased abdominal fat and suboptimal thyroid function occurs.

What are the symptoms?
Adrenal fatigue often causes salt cravings, increased PMS, mild depression, decreased energy, inability to deal with stress, muscle weakness, declined sex drive and mild constipation. People suffering from adrenal fatigue can feel like they are on a rollercoaster ride; feeling tired when they wake up in morning, having a boost of energy in the middle of the day, crashing in the late afternoon, getting another boost of energy in the evening, but feeling exhausted early in the night.

What is the solution?
Lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, exercise and the removal of stress that can be controlled are solutions for adrenal fatigue. Eating frequent small meals, more organic foods and avoiding sugars are great ways to begin a healthier diet.  Eating healthy will provide your body the steady energy it needs to function properly. Among its many benefits, exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Finding an exercise that helps release frustration can prevent the buildup of stress. If at all possible, get rid of any issues that cause stress.
Now that you know more about adrenal fatigue; does it sound like you? Are you a part of the statistic? If you are, what are you going to do about it?
